IUFRO

Connecting forests, science, and people.
A global network powered by Craft CMS for collaboration in forest science.

Since its founding in 1892 (!), the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) has been the world's leading network for forest science and forest ecosystem research. With a global network of over 600 member organizations from more than 125 countries and around 15,000 scientists, IUFRO promotes international cooperation and knowledge exchange on sustainable forest management and the protection of our forests.

We were honored to do the technical implementation of the new IUFRO website, which now offers a user-friendly and modern digital platform. The fresh, contemporary design was developed by IUFRO itself, while we were responsible for the technical execution based on Craft CMS.

Highlights of the New Website

  • Multilingual Support: The website supports multiple languages, enabling content to be communicated globally and targeted to diverse user groups.
  • Intuitive Navigation: Users can quickly and easily find relevant information thanks to a clear structure and an intelligent search function.
  • Flexible Content Management: Craft CMS allows IUFRO to flexibly create, manage, and customize vast amounts of high-quality content.
  • Enhanced Data Security: Thanks to modern security standards provided by default in Craft CMS, sensitive data and information are optimally protected at all times.

Continuous development and optimization

The IUFRO website is by no means a static project. Together with the IUFRO team, we are continuously working to optimize and expand the digital offerings.

New functions, improved interaction possibilities, and a constant adaptation to the needs of the global forest science community are the main focus.

Thanks to the lean architecture of Craft CMS, we were able to merge large amounts of data from different sources without any major problems. Step by step, an interactive platform is being created that works optimally for thousands of users worldwide.

Advantages of Craft CMS in Practice

Craft CMS was particularly convincing in this project due to its pronounced flexibility in structuring content individually and optimally adapting it to the diverse requirements of the IUFRO. The support for true multilingualism allows for problem-free international use, while the system's robust security architecture meets the highest demands.

The integrated multilingualism of Craft CMS is a decisive factor for the success of supra-regional and international projects like the new IUFRO website. It enables content to be effectively and precisely tailored to a wide variety of target groups worldwide.
